Collaborated with wildlife biologist Dr. Krithi Karanth from the Wildlife Conservation Society to conceptualise and build Wildseve. The research done by Dr. Karanth pointed out that Human-Animal conflict in the fringes of the jungles was a serious cause of wild animal deaths. So, we designed, prototyped and implemented a technology solution to solve this – by introducing a toll free number, that lets the villagers dial in, to report such problems. This alleviates their anger towards the animal, and we enable them to receive compensation from the Government of India. Till date, Wildseve has been piloted in 200 villages, handled more than 10,000 cases, with compensation from the government of $250,000 being distributed to more than 3,300 affected families.
